From Pam & Bob P.#611, these gorgeous pictures of their visit to South Padre Island. I've never attended the SPI Kite festival, but you can bet I will try in the future. What wonderful pictures, Pam & Bob!

SPI Kite Fest

If Harry (remember poor Harry with his sad tale of woe?) hadn't left his issue of "Winter Texan Times" on the table during Saturday's pot luck breakfast, Bob and I wouldn't have known about the Kite Fest Sunday, February 1 on South Padre Island. Thanks, Harry!

We had a great time despite bumping into a scary motorcycle gang. You can see from the picture what we were up against. (Don't let those smiling faces fool you.)
In addition to a picture of that motorcycle gang, I got some shots of the kites and kite-flyers that you might enjoy. If you missed the Kite Fest this year, I bet you'll get another chance next year!

Just spectacular! Thanks Pam & Bob.

The passenger side of our truck got "hurt" while driving on Seminary when we first got here. George and Pauline gave us a great recommendation for a body shop they had used and we concur...they were great. Betancourt Collision Center, located at 1226 N. Closner in Edinburg. Here's one for breakfast. It's The Moonlight Cafe on Closner, it's very good and you get plenty of foods. The lunch and dinner are also good, and the prices are reasonable.--Lisette
