Veteran's Day Memorial

A group of our Sandpiper Vets made a visit to the unveiling and dedication of the
Veteran's Memorial on Wednesday, Veteran's Day.Joe was behind the camera, with Bob, Ann, Barry and Pierre posing in front of one of the many informative walls.
The Memorial is on Ware and 29th St., at the back side of the civic center in Mission.
Joe says it was an especially moving experience with the families of the young Texas men lost in Iraq and Afghanistan carrying armloads of roses to place at the monuments.
Taps and a 21 gun salute brought tears to many eyes.
Not just the current wars are represented, but all wars the U.S. has fought in,
with histories of how the conflicts started.
Our Sandpiper Vets recommend this experience to all of us.
It is a large complex, impressive, and well worth a visit.

Thanks for the info and pix. Although a sobering experience, I look forward to visiting with Bill.
