*******
The Tuesday Bike Ride went to Estero Llano Grande State Park, off 1015 in Weslaco.
While we gathered at the front gate prior to the 9am caravan start we
noticed a suspicious couple lurking near the office.
Upon interrogation it turned out to be Barry & Carol waiting, waiting, waiting
for their house to come through the gate.
Patiently waiting. So we skedaddled fast 'cause we knew that house would, could block the road.

The Estero Llano is also a World Birding Center with lots of water
and has wonderful butterfly landscaping.

There were butterflies everywhere.

We should go back for a butterfly walk. Fridays at 1:30, there is a guided tour with an emphasis on kinds of butterflies and the plants to which they are attracted.

We saw turtles...went for boardwalks...Climbed up on a levee where Jon played King of the Hill.We all watched with much glee and anticipation as he gingerly descended....so far, so good...
The levee was steep! He made it, no problem.

Jim, however, need guidance.
These white-beaked, black waterfowl are young Coots. These are black-hatted old coots....Now...we get to the alligators.Alleged alligator..No, that's wrong.
There was a baby alligator in a cage...Then...Donna found a wild one!
I mean, look at that lens will 'ya!
No wonder she saw it!
See how happy Lanny is? Off the hook!Freedom! Not so fast, Lanny!Did you see it move? I didn't see it move. Are you sure it's alive? I mean...it's so darned far away!
I had to refer to the legend sign to make sure it was an alligator.Brian & Deb sent me these pictures taken at The Birding Center in South Padre Island.
Now THAT'S an Alligator!Nice try anyway, Lanny...maybe if you had waded into the water and splashed a little bit he might have come closer.
Next time, OK?
**
Then it was time for Fat Daddy's.
Yum!
Chicken fried steak...
sausage, Charo beans and potato salad...

Hamburger & fries...
BBQ beef sandwich with more fries...

Delicious!!!!
Next week join the bike riders at Resaca de Palma State Park, Brownsville.
It's a new state park we haven't been to yet.
