Tea Party & Mysterious Construction

You may have noticed some mysterious construction going on at the Butterfly Garden.
Bill #28 & Jim #38 are hammering and leveling and digging
and just working their poor little fingers to the bone
to give us a trellis with an attached bench.
The trellis for growing butterfly and hummingbird attracting vines
and the bench so we can sit and listen to the bees buzz and the butterflies flutter. It does kinda resemble a gallows, though.

Now...
THE TEA PARTY & FASHION SHOW
This was the last fashion show, probably for several years, so I hope you were able to attend.
What fun it was!
And the TEA PARTY!
Well, yummy doesn't even begin to describe it!
There was a wonderful selection of personal tea cups and pots.
Even a contest for the most unusual and oldest...
These are mine.Lovely ladies in gorgeous hats....But wait...I get ahead of myself...
It doesn't just magically appear as a done deal.
There is planning, and cooking, and meetings, and set up, and practise
and...and...Well, you get the idea.
A lot goes on behind the scenes to pull off a flawless presentation.
Here's a glimpse.
Sandy and Louise did a wonderful job, pulling us all together for a fun afternoon event.
Above is just a fraction of the ladies who helped set up, serve, bake, clean-up, etc.
The Fashion Show Theme was Classic Hollywood Movies.
Here the models are getting last minute instructions on how to emote their characters.
*
And away we go...with the dulcet tones of Bill as our Master of Ceremonies. Can you guess their characters?
Myrna Loy
Betty DavisFor many you don't even have to guess...
After the Fashion Show the models joined the audience for tea and goodies.
The centerpieces, baskets of flowering cyclamen in shades of pink & white,
were sold for a donation to the Butterfly Garden.
Thank you one and all. I promise the garden will again be blooming.
Elvis has left the building...
Oh, wait...wrong character.

That fox stole belonged to my friend's mother who would have been 103 years old this year. It is a piece which will go to a local museum upon George's and my return home.
The combining of Sandy's tea with Louise's models was great. Thank you to each one of the people (crew and audience) who participated in this event.
