Recent Events

Saturday night's no-theme table dance was again a huge hit.
The imagination and creativity was a delight to behold.
There was a representation of one of the most popular sports at Sandpiper's...water volleyball...which used up every Barbie in the valley.
It turns out G.I. Joe's were hard to find, so it was mostly a women's volleyball team...with one impressive exception. You can't see it from this angle, but there is a Firefighter's tattoo on his right leg. Can you guess who this is?
There was a biker table....
This one was Memories...involving frat parties, panty raids and plenty of beer...
Canada was represented...
????...
An under construction zone...
Easy street was popular with many wannabe's signing up.....
And Indiana's wine judges came complete with grape juice splattered legs...that was a sight on the dance floor, believe me!...
Speaking of wine......
Sunday's wine tasting was another success.

We learned all about Germany's wine industry with guest speakers Dorothee and Ekerhard adding authenticity to the lecture. Bob & Bernie again did a great job educating us about wine. Most of the wines were quite sweet and some breathtakingly so. But all delicious, and the large platters of Munster cheese that we were sternly admonished to finish, offered no problem.
A great weekend! Another great week ahead with a bike ride to Delta Lake on Tuesday, another Adopt-A-Family soup night also on Tuesday,Wednesday has a 4 pm street party with Mike & Sharon at #25, a Thursday book club meeting, the Nude-L-Fest on Friday, Ruebens for lunch on Saturday and also the huge, HUGE talent show Saturday afternoon and evening, and finish off the week with a Sunday pancake & omelet breakfast! And worked in and around all these activities are tennis, water aerobics, petanque, water volleyball, scrabble, min-ten, exercise classes, bowling, shopping, card games, doctor's appointments, oh..jeesh, I forgot Movie Night!

Phew...when do we retire?

The themes were pretty inventive this year. I only see the "no-theme theme dance" getting more creative as time passes. Thank you everyone for making the evening so much fun!

Suez, it's great for Stevie & I to see your blogs about all the Sandpipers events. We would rather be there sharing in them. Hopefully next winter.

The first chemo session was this afternoon - so far so good.

I'm glad that everyone enjoyed the dance. Haven't heard anything negative. Maybe next year we can get a little more notice and that will help to improve on the mere perfection we had this year.
