Christmas House Tour

On Thursday, Jan. 11, a large group journeyed to Falfurrias for lunch and a
tour of the Christmas House & Santa's Workshop.

Terry & Ian #502 have provided not only the pictures but the commentary, too.

Our trip to the “Christmas House & Santa’s Workshop” was ventured by 17 people including 2 male chaperones. We lunched at Strickland’s, just outside of Falfurrias, which by all comments was more than filling, with most ordering Taco Salads.

After filling our tummies we started north for about 2 miles, where one car made the right turn but the other two vehicles went further north by several miles and had to turn back after realizing that we missed our turn.

One of the cars was waiting for us in the parking area, where we all piled out to the waiting instructions from one of the owners of this very peaceful looking ranch home.
After a brief explanation of how the homestead started we were led into the main waiting area that was decorated with a beautiful “flowered” Christmas tree and other various decorations regarding this year’s theme - “books”. We all were given tours of the many rooms in the “Christmas House” which were decorated so beautifully with various themes such as Disney, musical etc.

In the “musical room” we took seats and had very beautiful singing from the 3 sisters who have painstakingly taken their home to a fantastic whimsical world of Christmas. We joined them in singing “Silent Night” in English, French, German and Dutch, which was a treat to both hosts and guests. When the music was finished our group was treated to refreshments of coffee, lemonade, chocolate bread, shortbread, peppermint bark and a few other goodies. Once again we were given a tour of 3 other rooms – a bedroom with a Mexican theme, another with a Dickens theme, and the formal living room glittering of gold decorations and angels, not to mention the cuckoo’s in the corner!

This tour started at 1 and we didn’t finish until 3:30, after which we were taken to the “store” was where we could purchase most decorations at l/2 price. My goodness the variety was awesome! Of course some of the charge cards took a little hit but our homes are going to look so beautiful with the additions that some of us purchased.
