Deck Your Halls! And Reminders....

Another contest...let's see.

We have a contest for adding comments to any December blog.
There's a contest for renaming the newsletter.
Now one for pulling out a string of lights and decorating your home in the spirit of the season.
I see a recurring theme here.
We must like to give away lunch tickets!
Oh, wait. Only the Blog contest prizes are lunch tickets this time around.
The others are a well kept secret.
I know, but I can be bribed...just so you know.
There will be many categories for the decorating contest...at least six winners, so get busy.

Message from Mariana:
The Special Olympic Scarf Project is still going on.
We have 6 scarves that have been completed and in the mailing box at Darbi's home.

We need more.
Those of you who want to be a part of this great cause will need to knit, purl and
hook their way to a scarf so an athlete or coach of the
Special Olympics will take back with them a special memory.
For more information on the Scarf Project you can look back to this blogs archives
and read more about it and maybe get some ideas for a pattern.
This is one of Mariana's scarves. She used a pattern from a published crochet expert named Drew Emborski, a guy also known as The Crochet Dude. And guess what?! He saw this blog and commented on her scarf! See the Oct.11 entry entitled Mariana's Scarf Journey.
October 11th, September 19, and September 15, all have info and links to patterns.
Or just ask Mary #5, Sue #38, Mariana, Darbi #3.

Now....cookbook!!
There are a bunch of us working on a SandPiper Memories Cookbook.
We would like to have at least one recipe from every family in this park.
So far we have about a hundred recipes from a half dozen people.
NOT WHAT WE WANT!
Recipes we can get on the Internet or in any cookbook.
We want memories.
If I pull out one of Lisette's mouthwatering salsa recipes I don't want to think,
"Oh. remember this great dip! Goes great on a tortilla chip!"
NO! I want to remember Lisette.
So give us a recipe that will remind us of you. Maybe your family secret cookie or appetizer. It doesn't have to be in any special format, as long as it is legible. Handwritten is fine.
Do it! Do it now!!!

I showed my ignorance of US politics. Should have referred to the governor of Illinois.
