What I Did on my Summer Vacation by Karen & Bill

Bill and Karen Hazlett here in Palacious, TX.

Bill is still hard at work. We love reading the blog, it keeps us in the loop.

We miss you all and hope to be back at Sandpipers Nov. 10th.

Our summer was spent traveling the beautiful national parks in Utah, Colorado and Arizona. One of the best moments was standing at the south rim and watching Navajo ring dancers with the fabulous canyon behind the dancers.
(Bill & Karen now have several entries into the two on-going contests. Three for sending in their anniversary & birthdates, and one each for this little essay on how they spent their summer. Send me a paragraph on what you did this summer and you'll get on the list for some great prizes to be awarded during Nov. 1st FunBuzz Happy Hour. You can do it. I know you can!)

++++++++++++++++

The leaves may be turning or have fallen where you are, but here at Sandpiper's the only evidence of Autumn is the string of fabulous weather we've been enjoying. Cool nights (in the 50's!) warm, sunny days.
The petanque courts are becoming...if not crowded, at least populated. The tennis courts are again in use.

The water volleyball crowd is beginning to get a little restless. The upcoming switch to everyday play can't come soon enough.

The first bike ride is tomorrow, Oct. 21st, at Benson State Park. Should be delightful. And also tomorrow there will be a Harvest Feast Pot Luck Dinner at 5:30. You know what good cooks we have here!
Bet you all can't wait to get here!!!

You are right on that point, Suez but it won't happen for us this winter. Unfortunately, Stevie has medical issues which demand our remaining in Ottawa. However, we are both looking forward to being back at Sandpipers next winter and reuniting with all our friends.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you Stevie. We'll miss you on the petanque courts and at the game tables. Get well and come back soon.

Got that right - only 40 more days (some might say STILL 40 more days but when I have been working in frost & snow for 3 weeks now the correct terminology is ONLY 40 MORE days)! We are REALLY looking forward to getting to Sandpiper's, getting to know everyone and particpating in all those fun activities!
