Synopsis of First Forum & Garden Party

Before I give you a brief run down of the first forum of the season let me issue an invitation to a garden party, Wednesday, Oct 29th, around 9am.

Now let's be clear...
If this is what you are expecting, well, bless you, but no.
Perhaps this is more your style...

Sorry, again, no.

Now if you are thinking like this, well, welcome to my party.

Karen is going to buy a fire pit for the North Garden, heretofore also called the Serenity Garden, but maybe in the future called The Pit...? Time will tell.
Anyway...it needs weeding. And love. And some more weeding. And I just can't do it all myself....so HELP!
If you don't know a weed from your left elbow, you poor thing, don't worry, I give directions.
9am, Wed.(Oct 29) morning should be nice and cool, and with a few helpers should go pretty fast. We need to weed the plumbago, cut it back & fertilize it. Cut back some of the purple sweet potato vine, and weed, weed, weed.
Let's get the garden all pretty for the first s'more party!
+++++++
Now...on to forum news...
Karen is going to send a detailed synopsis but in case you are curious
here are some of the high points.
++++
Office is open Mon-Sat, 10-3 (but there may be people around outside those hours, too)
++++
If you have a question, or work order, email it (Karen@sandpipersresort.com), or write it down and put in the box outside the office (when office is closed) or in the office, or phone it in. If you want something done by the grounds crew, submit a work order first.
++++
Rebuilding the gate and fence is a work in progress, as is changing and reprogramming the gate code. A few weeks yet for that.
++++
The new shower house is awaiting help from Mother Nature. As soon as she cooperates and dries the ground a bit more the plans will evolve. 6 weeks or so.
++++
Soap is being loaded into the shower dispensers but restraint is asked for. The drain field is over burdened with excess water, so no long showers please. Conserve is the new watch word.
++++
Because of the high water table the field, though it looks dry, really isn't. Just ask John P. Friends don't let friends drive into the field!
++++
The WiFi has towers at the office, the 200 row and the 400 row. Professional installers have advised we cut down all the trees and live in tents to make sure the reception is clearer. Since that isn't going to happen...this is as good as it's gonna get! Bring your laptop to the community room for excellent connectivity.
++++
Register all guests...each time...and all vendors.
Try to get your vendors to work between 8am-6pm, if possible.
++++
Keep recycling. Ron & Gloria have bins set up in the old woman's bathroom in the weight room (But you don't have to be an old woman to recycle...hope that's clear).
++++
Keep speed under 10mph.
++++
We are officially a nudist park, not clothing optional, but we are also full of common sense.
++++
If you bring new people to the park, and they sign up for a 3 month stay, or a 6 month stay...or heavens, get an annual...you can make a boat load of money! Just ask Karen!
++++
If you see the hot tub covered it doesn't mean it's closed. It's covered to try to keep the moisture from filling the pavilion. Go ahead, jump in, but replace the cover when you are finished.
++++
That's about all for now. Karen will be sending out a more complete synopsis soon.
