The closing ceremony for Olympics 2012 is today.
At 4, in the pavilion. a panel of judges will be tasting
a half dozen chicken wing recipes.
These judges were picked by tallying their medals...
3 points for gold, two for silver, one point for bronze.
The winners truly are WINNERS.
They get first crack at everyone's favorite chicken part.

At 4:15 the rest of us will gather for a
 SUPER HAPPY HOUR
(bring your beverage & a dish to share)
to reminisce and congratulate each other and,
if the judges have any leftovers we, too,
will scarf down some wings!

Last weekend we had a great Super Happy Hour over at Linda & Jack's/Don & Vanessa's to celebrate not only the end of a great water volleyball tournament but also Carma's birthday.

I brought Spicy, Damn Good Crackers.
Several people asked for the recipe
and I said I would put it on the blog.
Well, I forgot.
There may have been some wine involved.
 Can't remember.
I plum forgot...until just now.

Spicy, Damn Good Crackers

Ingredients:

1 box Saltines or other mild crackers.

1 Package Ranch Dip Mix

1 Cup Vegetable Oil

3 Tbs Crushed Red Pepper, less if you are a wimp!

Opt. a shake of garlic powder.

1 Gallon Bag

Preparation Instructions:

Mix all ingredients in gallon bag.
Rotate to coat saltines with mixture.
It takes several hours for oil to soak into crackers.
I make this the night before I am serving it.

You can speed up the soaking process
by baking at 250 for 20 minutes or so.

Eat them until you:

a. get sick and throw up
or
b. You run out.

I'm bringing some to Happy Hour this afternoon.
 Try 'em!
