Games Update & "What I Did This Summer"

Patsy and Garland sponsored a "Texas 42 Happy Hour" Tuesday at 4:00, to teach anyone who was interested in learning this domino game, sometimes called "The National Game of Texas."

Several Sandpipers enjoyed cocktails and snacks and learned to play "42," a domino game played like a card game. A good time was had by all, and we look forward to playing again and teaching others to play.
Hopefully, by the winter season, we will have enough "42" players to play on a weekly basis. For this Fall Season (until Nov. 1), we will play on Monday at 2:30 p.m. Please come and join us--if you don't know how, we will be glad to teach you!

How did you spend your summer? Inquiring minds want to know....

This report is from Dave & Nancy M.

To all our friends & family,

Dave & I were done with our job here at Mackinaw Mill Creek campground as of last Wed., so we have just been hanging out for a few days.

We have done some sightseeing/tourist things & enjoyed the summer. Happy hour & food events have always been at the top of the list. Monday we are headed towards home with a stop in Houghton Lake for some warranty work on the 5th wheel.

We are looking forward to being close to family for a while to catch up with everyone, but especially to see our grand babies. We will be headed south sometime around Oct. 6th or 7th, to Lenoir City, TN., where we will be putting up Christmas lights again. Then home again for Christmas. After that we are headed to Willcox, AZ for the winter. Where, hopefully we will do a lot of hiking & birding.

Oh yeah, we are pretty sure we are coming back here next summer. We are both doing great, so is Molly. We miss you all, hope to see you when & where we can. Keep in touch.
We love you all,

Nancy & Dave, & Molly, too!

We'll miss you both, but sounds like you are having a great time. I went to the Mackinaw Mill Creek Campground site and it looks beautiful...right on Lake Erie by the Mackinaw Straights. Cool, woodsy, great boating & fishing. When Jim & I were raising our family, about a hundred years ago, we did a lot of boating and camping around Michigan, and the Mackinaw area was one of our favorites.
