End of Summer Contest

Labor Day was enjoyed and is gone. We are all looking forward to our friends returning and activities increasing. There are a couple of months yet left before we switch over into high gear but already there are signs.

Have you checked out the sign-up sheets in the pavilion for card and board games? Sign up for any that interest you.

John #5 is looking to beef up the newsletter and is open for column ideas. I have a couple but I need your help.

The first idea is a garden column...kinda like a Dear Abby for plant questions. Most of us like to do a little gardening during the pleasant Texas winter weather, but aren't sure what plants do well in this climate. Or you've seen a plant or flower you like but don't know the name. Along with a plant of the month article I'd like to do a question & answer column.

If you have questions you would like answered email them to me (zabrit@earthlink.net) and they will be answered in the newspaper.

If you don't send me any questions I'll be forced to make some up...so help me.

Next idea: It's always fun to know who is having a birthday or anniversary. We don't have a list and Karen kinda frowns on us rifling thru the files so I am going to appeal to you with a contest.

Email me with dates (the year is optional) of your anniversary or birthday, your spouses, your friends, your neighbors.

John will put it in the appropriate month's newspaper.

Now, here is the contest part: For every date you send me you will have an entry into a drawing for a fabulous, delicious, one-of-a-kind prize...that's right! A PAIR OF LUNCH TICKETS! WooHoo! Free food!

This contest will run for the next two months...all of September and October. Winners will be announced at, you guessed it, the Nov. 1st FunBuzz Happy Hour.
