I am revisiting the first of the unofficial underground newspaper I started way back when we were young(er) and enthusiastic.

I am going to reprise my 'underground newspaper' role, and send out Sandpiper
updates thru the summer to all the 'goners'. Marilyn does an adequate job but
she doesn't report the gossip...so I will. If you do not want these random
updates just email me and I will remove you from the list. If you hear of
someone who wants on, also let me know.
This is the 1st issue of the underground newspaper but it's from last month so it's a little out of date. issue 2 will follow right now. Sue Z

The SandPaper, Rough and Unrefined News
Sue Zee Seyz:
We are STILL fielding 4 teams for volleyball, 4 huge teams! People just won't go home. The weather has been delightful, but you know that will change. Everybody is getting short haircuts in preparation for sweaty necks.
Sue P. and Jim Z. have been working like dogs to produce a good dvd from the recordings made at 'Air', the musical. They have a finished product now...Sue has done an amazing job...and are cranking out copies as fast as they can. We will mail one to you for $5.00, $4.00 if we hand it to you. That covers the cost of production and mailing, with a little left over to put towards next years big extravaganza, which Garland is working on right now!
Preparation for further construction has begun by cutting down the trees between the new office and the pavilion. Except for a few tall palms, all are gone. I understand the hot tub will be moved to that area. And, the big trees to the north of the petanque courts are gone, and a few near the horseshoe pits...probably gonna move the shuffleboard there. They do have a grand plan, so we'll just have
to wait and see. Also, the first rental trailer near the front gate is gone. We should see the rental units started soon.
Cath & Dr. B, Tommy & Terry, Yves & Andre' will be attending 1st annual outlaw national championship chuckwagon and quarter horse races...Monday, May 21st - Monday, May 28th...go online to check it out, should be a blast! There are rumors in the valley that Costco is interested in building here. Wouldn't that be nice! Also, McAllen just passed a NO SMOKING law for ALL restaraunts and bars, and public places. WooHoo!
