Adopt a Family 2013-2014

Another year - another season will soon be upon us.

 John and I will be meeting with our

elementary school contacts shortly.

They will provide us with a list of families

who require assistance.

We will meet with these families

in order to determine their needs, the number and
ages of the children and any special requirements.

In order to finance this worthy project

we will be having our regular soup
nights starting with the second Tuesday of November

and continuing in
December, January, February and March.

Two kinds of soup, bread, crackers
and dessert will be provided.

The cost is $5.00 per person payable at the
door.

BYOB.

We are seeking volunteers to make soup and desserts.

The monies generated from this event with help us

 in purchasing perishable food to be delivered

 at Christmas time along with donations of
non-perishable food, clothes

 and other necessities for these families.

We will also need helpers to shop for each child

 and to assist in delivering
these items on the Saturday before Christmas.

Soup night does not provide sufficient funds

 to cover the costs to provide
everything we need to purchase.

So, like last year we will be holding an auction.

 

This auction will be held on

Sunday March 2, 2014 at 2:30pm in the pavilion.

We are looking for items "from the heart".

 Items such as dinners, car wash,
pet wash, homemade pies, pickles, knitted items,

in other words something personal.
