“Internal Affairs” opens with the promotion of a top-notch keen police officer, Raymold Avila (Andy Garcia) who is transferred to the Internal Affairs Department of the Los Angeles police. Avila finds himself partnered with Amy Wallace (Laurie Metcalf) and their first assignment is to investigate Detective Dennis Peck (Richard Gere) who has an incredible growing bank account and financial holdings. As always this is a sign of something shady and indeed Peck is a dirty cop involved in a number of criminal activities in his pastime. As he a devious and clever manipulator Peck turns his sights on Avila when he and his partner begin to get too close.
