I Drank a Beer, Now I Gotta Go........

And you are in Mexico and you don't speak the language...
Inconvenient isn't it?!Or you are starving, and want a taco....or our favorite....a bag of lonches.
Do you know how many pesos? How much is a peso anyway?

Then there is the potty problem.....
Or shopping....Well guess what?

Terrific Terry (lot 415) can solve some of these little annoyances...

She is willing to teach a class of conversational, street savvy Spanish.

Well, Mexican, really.

There is nothing hoity-toity about it.

How to say yes, no, maybe so....

where is the bathroom,

I'll have another beer....

are you shooting at ME? (sorry, uncalled for...perhaps)

She just wants to know if there are enough peeps interested...so...either talk to her or leave a comment here (it can even be anonymous).

She just would like a feel for interest.

If enough peeps would like to learn how to correctly pronounce common Mexican words, to get by in Mexico speaking a little of the language, and have fun learning...well, let her know.

Jim always tries out his miserable Spanish on the checkers at the grocery stores here. Leaves them rolling on the floor, but I think they appreciate the effort.

Think I'll sign him up.

Bob & Pam Blow Us Away With Water!

Third in a series of photo reports showing Yellowstone thru the eyes of camera artists!
******************
Water in Yellowstone went way beyond Old Faithful. Colors ran the gamut from blue
to green
to black. There were geysers
and steaming springs. Rivers ran through it -- some roaring
and others meandering.
I've not seen such interesting liquid features anywhere else!

Stanley & Dona, Road Stories from Croatia...

We are doing well and enjoying Croatia soooo very much.
Good food, good wine, fantastic scenery.
What's not to love . . .
We even found a nude beach.
Rocky, but sunshine like you would not believe.

Thinking of all of you as we go along.

Wine Season

Bob & Bernie have sent this email to just about everybody who may be interested...but in case you missed it, here it is again.
*************************
Bernie has just completed her chemo and will start the radiation sessions next week. This will take about six and a half weeks, which means that we will probably arrive at Sandpipers around Thanksgiving time.
We have been busy here in Indiana with Bernie's treatments, etc.
and managed to get to Europe twice.
We were in Sicily for a week and in the Piedmont
visiting vineyards and wine producers in May.
We were in the port producing region of Portugal for a week
just returning a couple weeks ago.
I took more that a thousand photos each week of all the sights.
Maybe someone can convince me to put on a "slide show" this winter?

We have been busy visiting a few wineries in Indiana to collect samples for the January Wine appreciation class - we are almost done.
The wineries selected have won numerous awards across the country.
We discovered a wine store here in Indiana that had an extensive collection of Ports from Portugal, so we purchased several of these for out Port Appreciation class in March in case there would not be a good selection in Texas.
Bernie has been working on several recipes for Mexican dishes to use in the February Wine with Mexican Food Appreciation class - Bernie has got all her recipes finalized and has tested them out on some of our Sandpiper visitors and they all liked them!

After purchasing the wines and checking out the recipes, we determined that we could do every Wine Appreciation Class for $10.00 each for each person.
The Bring You Own Wine Event in December
is free to all who bring a wine and a snack.
So, find a wine that you like, found this summer etc. and join us in December.
*****

The Schedule for Winter is as follows:
December 12th at 3:00 PM "Bring your Favorite Wine"
Free: Bring a wine and snack
January 9th at 3:00 PM "Indiana Wines Appreciation"
$10 per person

February 13th at 3:00 PM "Wine with Mexican Food Appreciation"
$10 per person

March 13th at 3:00 PM "Port Wine Appreciation"
$10 per person

Bernie and I are looking forward to an exciting winter at Sandpipers.
We hope to see all of you there.
We will be starting collecting money when we get to Sandpipers in November - remember you are signed up after you pay.
If something happens there is usually someone on the waiting list.
Last year all classes were filled up.

Hugs,

Bob and Bernie

Bill & Karen Make Me Jealous!

Enclosed are some pictures of our houseboat trip in September.
It is hard to chose what to send so we will send more later.
What a fantastic trip.

Day one we set out from the Marina,
get used to steering the boat,
we all took turns.

Each day you put in at a beach of your choice, dug in the anchors then head for the back of the boat for a swim.

If beach is private enough and we were very lucky:) we hit the slide and then the water nude yeah. BRRRRR water only 80, we are use to Sandpiper's 94 degree pool but we were hot and dusty after mooring the boat so we hit the water.

Every day was more beautiful than the one before, each evening we celebrated the day and the sunsets with a Happy Hour, filled with good food, good drinks and the laughter of great friends..

Kayaking was a great way to explore the canyons. We were on the water a whole week. We have hundreds of memories to share more later.

Monique checks in.....

Hello, this is a few pictures of my apartment in Montréal Québec.
A 1 1/2 studio on the 11 floor. The view is at sun rise that is the view from my balcony... and I sent you (The top cat) Snowwhite.
I still didn't tell her that she was the only cat participating.
I miss every one so much.
I still have to wait for doctor to see my next one is November 11, after that I believe they will have to get together and study my case.
(In case I am really expecting a out of space creature...)

LOVE YOU ALL AND MISS TEXAS BADLY.
Pictures from my apartment...
Love, Monique & Snowwhite
