Interesting Email Exchange via Terry & Peg

Check out this email exchange I had with Murph at Playa Sonrisa, the little clothing optional resort in the Costa Maya, Mexico.   Just goes to show, if it isn't the NSA, it Google. Playa Sonrisa is a really unique place.  About six hours south of Cancun by rental car.  At the far southern point of the Yucatan. Just like being in South Texas, except with coconut palms, the Caribbean and a tropical reef, and very few people.  http://www.playasonrisa.com/ My initial message: Murph, it has been a few years. I hope this finds you and Cindy well. While eating lunch today, I was messing around with Google Maps. Looking at faraway places in StreetView.    That led me to Xcalak, and to find that Google Maps has "Beach View". Shows the Playa Sonrisa beach and dock, and a view of the property from the beach. What a surprise!  Pretty cool.  Good to see that Playa Sonrisa continues to get good reviews in Trip Advisor. Take care. ----- Terry McNinch *********************************************     Murph's Reply: Hola Terry, Funny story - Cindy & I were sitting naked in the "hot tub" (the ocean), far from our towels, in front of "Villa Sonrisa".  Along came the Google guy walking up the beach from the south wearing a big backpack with an extension high above his head holding 6 camera heads directed for radial view.   We knew Google street view was in the area, so I thought let's just stay put, won't it be funny to see ourselves sitting there sipping a cold one in the final product.  Unfortunately it was late afternoon & light was sub-optimal for their 3-D aspirations (need sun / shadow).   But the guy stops at the dock (where our towels were) & starts yelling out hellos towards the bar hut as he wanted permission to exit out to the road through our property.  Had no choice but to come out of the water & greet him - with "Uhm, I think you're getting more than just my ... ahem... street view".  (he assured me the camera was off at that point). Didn't know the product was live yet, so thanks for the head's up, I'll have to check it out when time & bandwidth allow.
