St. Pat's Day

Make plans to attend the St. Patrick's Day Dinner & Show this Tuesday evening.

There will be a great traditional Irish dinner lovingly prepared by Neet & Tony, to be followed by an Irish Extravaganza of a show!

The multitudes have been practising, and worrying over, and refining their acts for weeks now. It should be quite entertaining. And the green beer will help insure that. Give us a little food, a bit of drink, and we'll be entertained, don't worry.

The Bowling Banquet

Yesterday afternoon the intrepid bowling league from Sandpiper's met
at Grand China Buffet to wrap up our season of bowling adventures.
And adventures we had, too.
1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place...oh yes, we admire these accomplishments.
But...
The struggle for last place was so monumental, and all consuming,
that we just couldn't let it go unremarked, so...
a performance was in order.
Here is the script, with performers names/initials at the side.
We stood.
We said our bit.
They applauded.
We bowed.
Now, sing along......
Isn't she lovely...Miss Booby is inscribed with the names and dates of the bottom feeding sucker fish team, and will be passed down to future qualifiers of this honor.
Meanwhile, back to why we were really there...the food. This was SueP's plate. Note the green stuff.
She makes healthy choices.See mine...no annoying green color to be found.

Unless you count the wasabi.

Wasabi is a vegetable, right?

This is one of John P's plates. He was on a quest to find spicy food and
just had to go back again and again to satisfy his craving.
But the champion Buffet Browser of all time had to be Roy.
I swear he wore a path into the carpet. Where does he put it?

Oh. You want to know who won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
*
3rd was Annie & Bill, Roy & Kathy
*
2nd went to Laura & Bill, Louise & Tom
*
1st place was awarded to Bob & Bev, Bob & Pam.
Congrats!

Junque & Java...& Another Hint!

I wish it was going to be a bit warmer on Saturday, March 14,
for the March Junque & Java, but don't let that stop you from attending.
*
We interrupt this program for an important message:
***NewsFlash from H-less***
Our lunch will also go on as scheduled with Prime Rib Au Jus sandwiches (the prime from the "Showdown at the Pavilion Corral"), horsey sauce, Swiss cheese, sautéed onions, baked beans, chips, a beverage and a cookie! Hopefully cabin fever will make everyone want to get out and enjoy this lunch!
***
Now back to our regularly scheduled program:
The tables are free (just sign up in advance), the coffee is also free and hot.
There are tables to sit at and enjoy a baked goodie a la Miss Bev.

the first copies of Funs-A-Poppin *1* will be on sale,
with orders taken for Funs-A-Poppin *2*.
We have a sweet deal for you...

you will walk away with *1* in your hand and *2* will be delivered
to you (mailed at no extra charge) in about a month.
See Jim, #38.
All that for the measly price of $8.00...for both!
Only if you buy in the next 10 minutes.
This offer not available in stores.

The last two eyes left to be identified....
Hint 1: Both male
Hint 2: One a seasonal visitor, one lives here year round.
Hint 3: One likes dogs, one likes cats.

Quite soon I'll ID all the eyes, as I want to move on and I feel them staring at me every time I get on the computer. So enter your guesses, wrong tho they may be, so you too can possibly win free lunch tickets.

Time for some HINTS!

The cigar box is getting some action with this contest. Lots of guesses.
You can guess, and get into the box, as many times as you want to, thus upping your chances for winning lunch tickets.

But nobody can figure out these two eyes.
And yet you see them
ALL THE TIME!

So, maybe some hints....
One of these eyes is a seasonal visitor,
one lives here year round.

Update on the eyes contest.

Theresa is way out in front with 10 of the eyes correctly identified.
She has been wandering the park, peering into faces for several days now.
Most of the other eyes have been correctly ID'd but there are a
couple that seem to be completely anonymous.
Lots of guesses, none correct.
This one is a real stumper! Nobody is even close to getting it right.
So far the guesses have been:
Little Mary (Dave)
Irwin, a few times
Pam (Ed)
And this one, too, has every one fooled.
Some suggestions have been:
Gary,
Miss Toni,
Lashes to die for!
Look, you can practically see me in the reflection....cool.
I'll start giving hints soon, meanwhile keep peering into faces.

Yummy!

Last night a small group gathered at Barry & Joey's to finish off those pesky leftovers that have been haunting the kitchen since the Food Olympics.

Tony slathered the beef ribs with saucy goodness and made them food fit for the gods.

We all drank a little wine, slurped and burped our way through
reincarnated potatoes and a ton of cole slaw.

We were being honored as coordinators of different Olympic events,
and as volunteers in the parks many activities.

If those ribs are a prize held out to future volunteers, I urge you to step forward.

Worth it! Deelish!

Thanks Jon, for inviting us.
Thanks Don & Tony for making such delicious beef in the first place.
Thanks George & Ron for doing such primo jobs as Olympic Head Honchos.
Thanks Barry for arranging to have leftovers....
The meat fell off the bone (as an aside, Sherry & Tony's dogs are the happy recipients of the denuded bones). This picture is worth a 1000 words....And this....Eyes look familiar? As a matter of fact...

Hint-Hint-Hint!

There were seven "eyes" present at this dinner.

Not that I would help you cheat or anything.

Funs-A-Poppin *2*, and a HUGE CONTEST!

Fabulous FUN-FUN-FUN! last night at Funs-A-Poppin *2*!

I hope you got to see it, 'cause it was a doozy!

I was at the pavilion early to touch up the Peanut Gallery flats and add the *2* to the lighted sign...then helped set up a makeup booth in the gazebo.

All afternoon a parade of gorgeously clad harem beauties trickled in.

At one point we had five make-up arteests working with a standby crowd of onlookers.

Laura painted slithery golden snakes on arms, bellies, backs.

Here is Sherry's arm....and Donna's belly, complete with button.Weren't they easy to identify?

Think you can identify more?

Who's this? No idea, huh?
#1
This one is pretty easy.
#2
I mean the picture, not the lady.

The costumes and makeup were scrumptious...I hope you got up close and personal, 'cause you really needed to study the harem girls to have a chance at this contest.

The first person to correctly identify these eyes...and there are a few tough ones (no makeup) to throw you off...the FIRST one to get them right...heck, the first one to get the most right,

will win...

will win...

will win...

what? You guessed it...LUNCH TICKETS! Two of them!

A pair.

Take you and your sweetie to lunch (or breakfast) at the community room.

There are 12 eyes...take your best shot.

Put your answers in the comment section or send me an email.

This oughta be interesting! And yes, you can enter even if it's your eye.
I'll update the results with hints as we move through March. I may even add more goodies to the prize package.
Inspire me.
