Christmas Gifting

Barb has had a busy summer and has lined up several very worthwhile causes for us to consider.

*********************
Donation list for the
Alfredo Gonzales Texas State Veteran's Home in McAllen.
This is a facility of approximately 120 male and 35 female veterans.  We are collecting gifts for the residents.
Items needed are:
cologne
body wash
men's white t-shirts-med/large
slippers-women's/med
men-lg/xlg
lap robes
blankets
cloth bags (to hang on back of wheelchairs)
socks-same size as slippers
or
anything you would give to your mother/father
at Christmas who reside in a home.
or
A donation of money.  Money would go towards buying musical listening devices (such as IPODS, NANO'S) for Alzheimers patients in the Alzheimers wing.  Research has shown that music sooths persons with Alzheimers when they become upset or irritated.  The home is hoping to purchase one for each Alzheimers patient with music downloaded for his or her individual taste.

**************
Also we are collecting magazines for the VA Outpatient Clinic waiting area at the corner of McCall and Hackberry.  If you leave your name and address on the magazine, the VA will send you a thank you letter and then remove them before putting them in the waiting area.  You may also remove them yourself.  Magazines should be appropriate for veterans and their families.

Please leave items on patio #10 (Brad & Barb)
 in the appropriate box.

*********************
The Edinburg Police Dept sponsors "Blue Santa" every year, collecting toys for children under the age of 13.  You may place a donation for this cause on Barb's patio by Dec 11.
  No need to wrap.

Questions?  Talk to Barb, Lot 10.
