Hail to the Chief

We are camped in the Black Hills of South Dakota...
Land of Custer...
Land of Sitting Bull...
Land of Hellacious hail storms!
We are snug as a bug in our RV but
what about all the hikers, back packers...?
I shudder to think.
We hunkered down and listened to crashes on our roof by ping pong sized hail, blinded by lightning, deafened by thunder.
Biggest hail storm I have ever been in!
Scary, but exciting!

On our first night out, just south of Gainesville TX we too experienced one hail of a storm, at 2:30am at a motel. Our poor old red Buick was sleeping outside of course, and the large-marble size stones did a complete restyling job on her hood. No other body damage, but the hood is a mess.

How about your camper?

There were three rounds of hail, each more exciting than the last! But, wonder of wonders, the only damage is a very, VERY small dent on one spot of the roof...of course we haven't crawled up there to look yet. Fingers crossed.
