What a Week!

The Valentine Dance was a big success. Lots of laughter and dancing and fun had by all.
The pavilion looked smashing all dressed in red.
With appropriate hearts and cupids scattered about.

Now..on to the Edinburg Race.

Did you hear how well our reps did?

Do you have clue?

They were AWESOME! Of the 10 participants, five won trophies!!

Congrats to Barb, Roy, Bob, Marijanne, and Duane.

You make us sooooo proud, and inspire us, too.***************

Garland has made a killer bench for the butterfly garden.

Everyone is encouraged to come sit, enjoy the flowers. Yes, there will be flowers.

The buds are already starting to break.

Sandy welcomed Patsy & Garland to the garden and we sited the bench just so....perfect for getting a little sun, enjoying the birds, just resting.
Thanks Garland.
Beautiful bench!

Vee Vant Your Blood....

From our very own Dr. Bob....
We have only a few folks signed up for the blood tests on Thursday, 2/18.
If we don't have much response we may not be able to get them
to come back again in the future.

I can make the argument that:
Part of the reason was
that they left us out to dry last year
and then contacted us too late this year,
hence many of our folks had their tests done
before we found out they were interested in coming here this year.....

And we might get a repeat next year, but...
It is a great opportunity to get your labs done at a reasonable price.

So sign up, in the pavilion.

Thank you, thank you very much....

Puppies, Kitties & Books

You know the Top Dog & Top Cat Contest?
The annual contest where pet owners pimp their pets, garner votes
and proudly display their pet's cuteness?
That contest?
Well, it is in jeopardy!
There is one entry on the picture board.
One.
Gizmo is darn cute, but come'on guys!
One proud pet owner...at Sandpipers?!If you don't have a cute pet picture, just jot down some notes on a card and stick it up.
Tell us why your doggie or kitty should win a goodie bag.Otherwise, this contest may just go the way of the dinosaur.
A shame!
It would be a shame!
Cuteness should be promoted and admired!

Thank you.
+++++++++++++++++
And ladies, tomorrow plan on attending the Thursday Book Club,
in the Comm Room,
11:30...
even if you never got around to the book.
*
Sandy is the hostess and promises a curried chicken salad.
Yum!
Bring a small salad.
Smallish.
Feeds four, maybe.
There is always a ton of food,
and tea,
and did I mention,
wine?
Oh, and lively book discussion, too.

Of Rice Pudding & Cocktails!

How many of you have had a private cooking lesson from Elsie?
Well, Garland has.
Garland couldn't stand to be without her rice pudding until next season,
so she agreed to teach Garland how to make it.
I just stayed out of the way.
After Elsie left and the rice pudding was done, Garland ate half of it all by himself.
(I don't care for rice pudding.)

Cocktail Contest
The weather is on it's way to the crapper again!
This Thursday, instead of staring miserably out your RV
come on down to the pavilion at 4 to warm up your innards with a few cocktails.
For 50 cents a cup, a much sought after, disposable souvenir cup...
...you can imbibe to your heart's content.
Even better...why don't you sign up to be a mixologist?
It's loads of fun,
it's creative,
it's always a hoot!
And we need you.
So far only a small handful of would be winners has signed on.

Both alcoholic and non-alcohol drinks are needed.

Puh-leese!
