Got Grass?

Weedstock, that much planned for psychedelic event postponed from a few weeks ago is coming back, in part, to haunt us yet again.
Tomorrow a load of grass sod for the area around the new shower house
is expected to be delivered.
Dirt has been, or is in the process of, being spread.
With 10 pallets of sod to lay help is being sought...nay, begged for!
If you see the sod has truly been delivered, and if you are able to help
(Lanny stay home..or you can come help me supervise),
PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE, come over to lend a hand.
There is rain predicted for the weekend, so perfect timing to get the grass down.
Next week we may continue with the pizza part of the party, but regardless your help will certainly be much appreciated.

More Horsing round in Missouri!

Tommy and Terry and Catherine and Bob went to Chuck Wagon, Mule and Horse Races at the Lazy P Ranch outside of Lockwood, Missouri last weekend.

Catherine and her horse, Touchstone, running the barrels.

Terry riding Hannah and running the pole-bending course.

What a horse race! The girl with the pink cast won.

'Tuff Enuff to Wear Pink' team running in the chuck wagon race and shows some of the flavor.

Four small wagons racing in the 'Oklahoma Landrush' race.

The weather was beautiful.

The food was great and we had a wonderful time.

My horse, Dreamer, showed off her skill pulling the buggy two evenings.

We are planning on hitting the road south next week and should arrive SPR around Halloween maybe a little after.

See y'all soon.

Love,

Bob and Catherine

Yippee! Great pictures Bob and what a great time! Makes me want to run out and buy a horse!

Shower House Update

The showers are up and running.
Soap in the dispensers, paper in the toilet cubicles, benches to rest on.
The sinks work.Water pressure is good! Lots of light.
This unknown subject kindly volunteered to do a test run.
He got clean.

The grass sod has yet to be placed (look for Weedstock in the next few weeks) and the OFFICIAL Grand Opening isn't until AFTER the grass is down, plants in their rightful spots, etc., but for now, shower on.

A few gentle reminders. Because the grass isn't laid yet, approach the Shower House through the pool-side entrance or stay on sidewalks to avoid tracking mud into the showers. Also, if you are covered in mud, grass, dirt...rinse off with a hose first before showering. The septic system seems touchy about excess grass and mud, plus, lets keep the floors clean.
About the benches in the shower. Please don't try to move them. They are super heavy.
And they ARE NOT one piece...if you try to move them or straighten them a disaster beyond your imagination could occur.
A temporary fence has been positioned on one side of the pool-side entrance,
and plants on the other to discourage short cuts.
(You know who you are!)New fences are ordered, sod is on it's way, finishing touches are in the works...but for right now....
The Shower House is open for business!

Sandpiper Sun News

"Well fellow Sandpipers, Labor Day has come and gone and October is here.
Slowly residents who have been away visiting family and travelling are starting to return.
Our Winter Texans cannot be far behind.
The Sandpiper Sun will also be returning in early October.

We are planning some changes to the Sandpiper Sun.
Firstly it will be more short items and fewer pages.
We expect that it will be easier and quicker to read.
Items that can be found on other websites or blogs will not be included.
A short note as to where to find these items is all we intend to list.

Secondly, the Sandpiper Sun will be available by email only.
It will not be posted to the website.
We have decided to do this in order to protect the
identity and anonymity of Sandpiper residents.
If you wish to receive the Sandpiper Sun please email your email address to sandpiper_sun@earthlink.net.
Your email information will not be divulged to anyone.
We do not sell email addresses.
We will respect the confidentially of this information.
Those few who do not have email can obtain a copy from the office.

Our plan is to publish the Sandpiper Sun monthly from October to April.

We are always seeking suggestions and items to list.
Please support the Sandpiper Sun and subscribe.
