Night Owl Season!

It's that time again...NIGHT OWL SEASON is on our doorstep!

What the heck am I talking about, you ask?

The Night Owls...are a loosely,

very, very loosely,

organized group of wackos

with a long history at Sandpipers of doing, well, not much.

And we are proud of it.

New owls join the flock in the Spring of the year with initiation rights

witnessed by the whole park.

There aren't too many tears shed, and no pain.

Well, not much anyway.

Usually a couple will join together, though single owls are welcomed with gusto...fresh meat!To differentiate the exalted owls from those too hooty

to join our merry band we wear special T-shirts.

You can only receive your T-shirt after the long, convoluted and embarrassing initiation rite, involving days of preparation, exhaustive study and strenuous physical activity.

But...but...why would anyone want to join such a demanding club?

Beer & Pizza, that's why! Duh!

The first Tuesday of Feb. is shaping up to be

the big park wide beer tasting/pizza party put on by the owls.

To show your support for all Owl-dom, you ancient Owls are requested to wear your Owl shirts (when coolness requires a covering-or just to look cool) every Tuesday,

especially to food events like grill night or soup night or the monthly pot-luck dinners.
