Finally....FIRE!

After SIX failed attempts, reaching back to last year...thank you Mother Nature... the Edinburg Fire Dept. finally gave the go ahead for the hands on fire extinguisher demonstration.

40 !!! people showed up despite the last minute announcement. Yeah, Sandpipers...we are HOT!

Led by Sergio Diaz and Ruben Lopez, the class was both interesting and informative.

For instance...do you think the fire extinguisher that you so carefully bought is going to work... despite the fact that you have not touched it since you hung near the kitchen?

You are supposed to turn it over once a month

to make sure the powdered chemical doesn't cake.
They passed out an info sheet full of good tips.

Everyone who wanted to got a chance to use the extinguishers,
