There are several used-to-be-Olympic events that have been or are being played right now.
The tennis games were dropped from the Olympic schedule because of clothing issues (it was chilly in the evening and some wore t-shirts...a big no-no in this year's Olympic rules).
But they continue to play their tournament for their own enjoyment...as do the Scrabble players.
Scrabble is apparently not strenuous enough (brain exercises instead of muscles!) so it was dropped. And the AC is sometimes pretty chilly in JAKZ so we have been known to (gasp) wear coverings....huge Olympic disqualification!
Golf has been played (see March 4th's blog entry) and enjoyed immensely despite having to wear clothes.
Bowling is out...out of the park, clothed...but we still had a great time!
