This morning we met Juan, a new bug guy making the rounds at Sandpipers.
He used to be the Orkin Man but has started his
own pest control company and was out drumming up business.
He's a hoot!
When you start talking to him about this being "that kinda place", he rolls his eyes and grins, but says he loves it here, after he got over his initial shock.
Says he'd love to live here, we have a great joy of living.
We sent him over to Natures to drum up more business.
Now here's the deal.
For the next couple of months he's running an introductory special.
For $40 he'll spray all around and under your house with free call backs if needed.
He said it's a great time to do it because once the termites start swarming, if they get a toehold in your house, it'll be too late and you'll have to do a regular termite treatment.
This spray should keep them away from your house, plus kill all the other creepy crawlies and especially ants. He noticed right away that we have a serious ant problem.
Call him and tell Juan you read about him on Sandpiper's blog!

This morning WE GOT GRASS!Boy howdy, did we ever!
10 pallets of sod...between 4500 & 5000 square feet!
With plenty of worker SandPeeps to hustle the sod into place. At first there were only a few peeps standing by
and we looked at all the sod with a sinking feeling.
Then slowly, bit by bit, the peeps emerged...in droves.
Now, being the careful photo-journalist that I am, I edited out most of the bare parts, but trust me...there were a lot of dirty, naked people running around. There was lifting, and carrying, and patting into place...Hi, John! That's right! Green side up!And before you knew it...a little over an hour, it was done!
We got grass!
I wish I could have captured the moment better. You've got to picture this...95 degrees, wind blowing VERY gustily. Dirt flew into eyes, into mouths, stuck to skin.

They were one dirty crew when finished. Most ran through the sprinklers to wash off the bulk of the grass and dirt, then hit the new showers.
As a finale, Karen treated us to Pizza and beer by the pool in the afternoon.
And it was delicious!
And best of all...
We Got Grass!
