The ABC's of Sandpipers

ABC's, that's About Baking & Crocheting!
Profiling some of the great talent here at Sandpiper's Resort.

Here is another talented needlewoman from Sandpipers. Mary #5 has made some darling clothes for her granddaughter.

How cute is this pumpkin hat? Can't you just see this perched on a baby's head during Halloween? A gorgeous knitted dress.Another hat, this time for warmth, but still just as cute. Beautiful, Mary! She has completed a scarf for the Special Olympics and will also teach anyone who would like to learn how to knit or crochet.

Share your creations. We love to see what others have made. In coming blogs I will show some fine woodworking, some extraordinary beads and jewelry, and even fabric manipulations...also known as cut t-shirts. And today, more talent, this time in the kitchen.

And now...on to THE COOKIE LADY!
Bev does outstanding work with flour, sugar, and chocolate chips!!! Most of us have enjoyed her hobby and her generosity over and over again. She shares delicious cookies and treats with voracious volleyball players on a regular basis, and brings goodies to many get-togethers.
Baking for 25-250 people at a time can be rewarding and enjoyable, but also a tad pricey. If we want to keep those yummy treats showing up let's give her some support. The next time you are grocery shopping why don't you pick up a baking staple and surprise her with it. Anything from chocolate chips, to flour, sugar, nuts...even Rice Krispies and marshmallows. I love her Rice Krispie treats with those butterscotch chips!

Now, lest you murmur..."But she sells those treats during Junque & Java, doesn't she?" She does, and doesn't come anywhere near covering her expenses. Drop-in-the-bucket! So, no, you don't HAVE to contribute to her baking supplies. She'll give you a cookie, or 5, anyway. She doesn't even know I am asking you to do this. Let's surprise her, and often, during the coming winter season, with random acts of groceries.

Really important question: What's your favorite Bev creation? Mine is, as before mentioned, the butterscotch Rice Krispie Treats...what's yours?
