    Frabel Reimagined

After the cruise Mister and I visited  my sister Patti in Melbourne, FL for several days (just long enough the infect her with that terrible cold so many of us got on the ship).

While there we toured the McKee Botanical Garden in Vero Beach to view glass sculptures by German glass artist Frabel.  He places his art in nature like Dale Chihuly.
It lined the paths, was tucked into tree stumps,
    even up on the branches...

You had to really search the forest to see it all.

    There were gorgeous flowers everywhere...
     Exotics...
     and butterflies...

     real and glass...

Kind of like a blue bottle tree, yes?

And we of course had to have a special lunch....
    Ummmm...oysters!
But these mussels stole the show...my fav!
They brought us extra bread to sop up the winy herb butter sauce...
    'Could have used a straw!
     Don't we look full?!

Wed Night at the Movies, Feb 27

    WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES

    FEBRUARY 27th @ 7:00 PM

BRING A BEVERAGE AND SOME POPCORN AND ENJOY

Steven Taylor (Michael Douglas) and his wife Emily (Gwyneth Paltrow) have a seemingly perfect life. He’s a successful currency trader, and she is set to inherit millions of dollars from her family’s trust. However, Steven’s business is in trouble, and he knows that his wife is having an affair with an artist, David Shaw (Viggo Mortensen). Her family is wealthy, and her inheritance could easily fix his financial situation. Steven blackmails David, threatening to expose damaging information about David’s past to the art world. Too keep this information from getting out, all David has to do is kill Emily, and Steven has the details already planned out.

from 8:30 am until 12:30 pm.

Sign up sheets are available at the Wednesday socials, Thursday Happy Hours and at lot #116.

Bev has a great idea that will save her time, money
and not the least of all, effort.

If you want to purchase baked goods from her let
her know what kind and how much.
She'll make it just for you.

There will be no Junque & Java this coming month because of a park wide garage sale and you know
you need your cinnamon bun fix!

Last month she ended up with a freezer full of rolls and had to give and/or throw them away.
Let's help her out by pre-ordering your goodies!

    See Bev at #514

    FROM THE VOLLEYBALL TSAR:
    There will be a
    men's volleyball tournament
    on Saturday, March 2
    beginning at 11:30 am.
I hope to have 4 teams,
round-robin tournament as I did for the ladies,
and maybe prizes for the winners.
To sign up I'll be at the Wednesday socials,
or see me around the park or at 502.
Also, there is an expression of interest
    in regulation volleyball.
If there are enough people prepared to commit
to playing regulation, I will work with Karen
to select a day & time, otherwise it may keep
until we get a dedicated volleyball pool.
Anyway, let me know what you think!
    THANK YOU!

    Back to The Real World

    We're back!

It was a long day Wednesday of almost missed connections,
too many Bloody Mary's to help smooth my ruffled nerves
(we flew out of Orlando and you KNOW what that means!
    M-I-C-K-E-Y )

    Cruise was great fun.
The food was too tasty...I gained THREE pounds!

Every morning we would order room service for a carafe of coffee and our first breakfast...smoked salmon for me...then later indulge in Bloody Mary's, brunch or the Lido deck buffet.

All the Sandpeeps melted into the ship and we only ran into each other occasionally (mostly in the casino...Hi, Mary!)

The weather was lovely until the last chilly day.  Inside the ship it was cool...sweaters came in handy.

The Panama Canal tour was the most interesting we did,

followed by a short tour of Portobello

with lunch.  See that little bowl?  Snails!

Our formal night picture looked GOOD!

As soon as I get unpacked, organized, etc...I'll catch you all up with Sandpiper Resort news...including a change in how to leave comments on this blog.  We are being completely swamped with computer generated spam.  You only see the tip of the iceberg if you read the comments!
