To get the recipe ball rolling, here are a few recipes from Lisette. I received an email from Dale #415 about his bumper crop of red peppers. He asked for a recipe similar to the chips and sauce on every table down here in the valley. Lisette has been known to make a mighty fine salsa so I forwarded his request to her.
This is a win-win for both of them. Besides getting a great recipe for salsa, Dale is also now entered in the blogging contest. (Renda, you are too). And so are Lisette & Gary. Every time you send me something...anything...that I put on this blog your name goes on the list. At the 1st FunnBuzz Happy Hour in November we will award three prizes randomly picked from my Blog List. The more times you are 'published' the better your chances to win a fabulous, exciting, much-sought-after prize.
Here are Lisette's recipes:
How I make mine is:
Red sauce.
3 cans of diced tomatoes
10 to 12 jalapenos (I like it hot)
cilantro, 2 bunches
2 tbps of cumin
1 garlic cloves
1 onion diced
Boil the tomatoes w/cumin for about 5 min.
Boil the jalapenos til they change color
Sometimes I add 1 habanero for hotter.
Put everything in blender and mix it. You can add the chicken cube in this one also.
+++++++++++++++
Green sauce
20 tomatillos
1 onion
cilantro
jalapenos to taste 6 or 7
1garlic
Boil tomatillos and jalapenos and put in blender. After well blended put back in the pot and add 1 chicken cubes stir till the cube is melted.

I admit it...I've never made my own salsa! It is too easy to reach for a jar at the grocery. So when I saw Lisette's recipe I was surprised. Somehow I thought you just chopped up fresh peppers and tomatoes and maybe cilantro, and voila, salsa.
Did a little research and found a gazillion recipes for salsa online. Here is a link to one with very similar ingredients and method. It has 78 reviews that acclaim it the best...so Lisette is on to something here.

suez, will it be necessary to be present at the Nov. happy hour in order to win the "blog prize"?
Good point Alan, some clarification is necessary. To win a much-sought-after, fabulous prize you don't have to be here, but you must:
1. Be an annual site holder or have a reservation for this winter.
2. Pick up the prize when you get to Sandpipers (if you won).
Thank you for clarification, suez.
