Gifts have a $20 minimum.
No gag gifts.

As you come into the pavilion, you will be given a number.
Place your gift on the table.
When your number is called you can take a new unwrapped gift off the table, or steal one of the gifts that have already been chosen and unwrapped.

Gifts from past years include alcoholic beverages, restaurant gift cards and store gift cards.

Come prepared to have a great time and bring home a wonderful gift.   See you on Monday, Christmas Eve. at the pavilion

*************
Now for a message from the Blog Queen (me)!

This gift exchange info is on the calendar but you have to click on the drop-down arrow to see it...so many peeps don't know about the gift exchange.

It's a fun event but it's better to know about it at least a week or two ahead of time to pick up a nice gift.
 At least I would.

All official Sandpiper events have to go thru Karen, who puts the info on the calender.  Sometimes I get the information ahead of time, sometimes I don't.

If you are sponsoring an event and want your message 'out there', give me the particulars and I'll blog about it.
I don't go searching for stuff...stuff must come to me.

There...my 2 cents.

Copying Beethoven
The film gives a fictitious account of the final year of Beethoven's life. A copyist is needed to help the Ludwig van Beethoven (Ed Harris) finish his most famous work, the "Ninth Symphony." A woman, much to everyone's surprise, is recommended - a young, but talented student named Anna Holtz (Diane Kruger). Much to the surprise of Beethoven’s music publisher, Wenzel Schlemmer (Ralph Riach), Anna inspires Beethoven to finish his greatest work ever under deadline. The film takes place in 1824 and the production, design, costumes and location are all authentic. Director Agnieszka Holland creates a beautiful picture.

The Mexican

Jerry Welbach (Brad Pitt) is in love with a strong minded woman. Samatha (Julia Roberts) wants him to give up his badboy ways, leave the mob behind and start a real life with her. Jerry's boss, on the other hand, doesn't really have any plans of releasing Jerry and sends him south of the border to bring back a gun called "The Mexican" that is believed to be cursed. Recovering the pistol comes easy to Jerry, but getting it back to his boss seems next to impossible. Perhaps the curse is real? Jerry isn't sure but when Samatha is taken hostage by a hit man to try to gain leverage over Jerry, he must decide what is worth more to him; staying alive or rescuing Samatha.

Flowers for Christmas

Yes, it's COLD!
And yes, I'm worried about my tomatoes and peppers...
and OMG, the basil!
But...
I have flowers!

This is an Angel Trumpet...Charles Grimaldi, a Brugmansia.
Grows into a small tree if we get a break from killing frosts.
This one is a peachy color, fragrant and my favorite.

A pretty orchid...

Another Brugmansia, this one in white.

 Adeniums...also called Desert Rose.
Grown from seed from Taiwan.

A very showy hibiscus, just in time for Christmas!

What's growing well in YOUR gardens?

Stone Cold

Jesse Stone is a former L.A. homicide detective who left behind the big city and an ex-wife to become the police chief of the quiet New England fishing town of Paradise. Stone's old habits die hard as he continues to indulge his two favorite things--scotch and women. When a series of murders takes place and a high school girl is raped, he's forced to face his own demons in order to solve the crimes. And, since these are the first murders to occur in Paradise, Jesse must also train his inexperienced staff of police officers to assist in the investigation to find the killers and the rapist before they can strike again.

WiFi for RV's! & Ladies Chorus.

WiFi for RV

We are now ready to give the wifi a test out.
Come over to get a code to try out the wifi
and learn how it will work.

 Mon,
Dec 3,
2:30pm – 3:30pm

Flip Flopz

 Karen Update:

I've told everyone that they will know when the wifi is working
when they see me doing the happy dance.
Well, I'm not doing the happy dance yet,
but we have taken the first baby step towards that time.
We are now able to provide wifi service in Flip Flopz and JAKZ
for those in people in the rv section of the resort.
We still don't have the strength that we have been promised
so consequently time and data limits will be in effect.

This system does require that each computer
have its own unique access code.
I will be in Flip Flopz Monday afternoon
 from 2:30-3:30 to assign codes
to those who want to use the service.
Remember, at this point wifi access will only be available
to short term residents of the rv section
and suites for use in Flip Flopz or JAKZ.

If you need assistance connecting,
bring your laptop with you and I will be glad to help.

If you are currently using a mobile hotspot, my advice is don't get rid of it yet! I'm keeping mine. Unfortunately there are always kinks in a new service and with our luck, who knows what we might face. Also, this service is limited as to the amount of time and data each person is allowed.

I'm hoping to be doing the happy dance soon!

Karen
