More Exercise.

We are having such a good time "Sweatin' to the Oldies" with Richard Simmons that another day is to be added.
Join us at 9AM, Monday's, Wednesday's for Richard, and on Friday's for a Kick Boxing DVD.
I am assured that the kick boxing is very do-able and no one will have a problem...So save 9 to about 9:40 Mon, Wed, and Fri to work up a little sweat and STRETCH those muscles!

LD Update from Donna.

As you may know, LD had 'emergency' Triple A surgery
June, 2011, (Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm).
In his case, because the aorta had actually dissected,
he beat the 3% survival rate, with the Lords help.
A complication of his surgery is the later development of hernias, as they opened him up from his breast plate to the groin.
As a result, he has developed 5 hernias
 with one being extremely painful.
He is under pain management and doing much better,
although he has problems driving more than 5 miles or so.
His condition is not life-threatening and the pain management specialist and hernia specialist are currently formulating a plan.
We are now parked at the Lakeview RV Resort
just 5 miles from the Houston Medical Center.
In fact, they offer shuttle service to and from the med center. Many of the people in this resort are here for medical reasons.

Thank you to Bill and Jay for "hooking up the rig" and Bill G. for driving us in the motor home to Houston.
And, thanks to all who helped in
closing down the pad for the summer.

LD is more bored than anything.
Although, he is fishing in the well-stocked lake here at Lakeview. The waiting for further test results and the doctors' plans is frustrating, as we all know.

LD's email address is wrightldl@aol.com
and our phone number is 281-535-2441.
It is fine to email or call and it helps in breaking the boredom.

I am doing great (since he if feeling a little better) and 'Doc' plans are finally coming together, plus there is shopping and Starbucks close by in every direction -- not to mention, the grandkids are just minutes away.

Thank you all for the prayers and concerns for both of us.

HCN Announces WNBR in June, 2012

Greetings AANR-SW friends!

Hill Country Nudists has some exciting news to share with the region and is asking you share it
with all of your members and guests.

Steve Bosbach, President of HCN has announced that the World Naked Bike Ride is set for June 9, 2012.

Following is an excerpt from the HCN website.

For more information, log on to
and

World Naked Bike Ride is coming to Austin this year on June 9, the same as many other cities around the country and northern hemisphere. WNBR is a celebration of life on two wheels and a demonstration of efficient, sustainable transportation in the ever growing sea of steel gas guzzlers. If you commute by bicycle, as many students and downtown workers do, or just get out for an occasional recreational ride, you know how vulnerable you feel in the traffic mix. We are naked, if you will, amidst the herd of cars and trucks. We ride nude to show how vulnerable the cyclist is and the need for better bikeways and safety measures for bicycling as transportation.

So this is both a celebration and a political statement to build awareness of cycling as legitimate transportation and the joy of moving yourself under your own power.

Join HCN and others as we take to the streets on June 9th. We’ll start with some body painting and slogan making, then head out on a relatively short ride with several stops to make sure everyone stays together. Details for start location and possible after ride party will be coming.

I’m looking for volunteers to handle pre-ride body paint, sign making, pre-ride bike safety checks and repairs, security, photo documentation, and monitors. Please lend a hand, even if you don’t plan to ride.

Contact me asap if you can lend a hand with this event. You can also keep up to date by checking the event on www.meetup.com/hill-country-nudists/. I’ll keep the latest information there and you can check into the event to show you will be attending.

Catherine and Bob's Latest Adventures...

Well, it seems that the longest journey always begins
with the first blow-out.
This trip was no exception...I-410 at San Antonio.
It took both of us to break the lug nuts loose.
Catherine stood on the lug wrench and jumped up and down
while Bob kept it on the nut,
 held up the other end,
and used some new, really creative,
 mechanic's word combinations, too.
We limped into the tire shop the next day
and now have four new tires.

We arrived at the Lometa, TX Flying U Ranch
and rode with the kids and their in-laws.

The rain has done wonderful things to the land.
Catherine's rendition of "Tip-toe Through the Tulips"
which is more like
 "Barreling Through the Blue Bonnets".

Then the two of us in a patch of BB's which seem to be everywhere.

Here Bob is having a little whispering session with the mother of daughter Jennifer's newest baby,
 "Promise", a two-week-old cremello filly.

Cremello is basically a double palomino genotype.
The baby has two blue eyes.

Love,

Bob and Catherine

Good Grief!

Nice quiet Friday.
But wait..it's Friday, the 13th!

Jim decided to save a bit of moola, change the oil himself,
and get the RV ready for our summer travels.

No good intention goes unpunished!

He drained out all the black, dirty, gooey oil into a couple of large containers and set them aside to dispose of properly.

 It's windy.
Very windy.
This...
became this.
Oil everywhere on our carport.
It felt like this...

but was really like this...

Thank you Jon P. for sacrificing your manicure
to help clean up the mess!
Now I know why mechanics always have black rimmed nails.
As Jon said,
"Good thing you changed the oil.  It was really dirty!"

Don't Pick the BlueBonnets!

Why Texans don't pick the Bluebonnets...

Highway 306 from New Braunfels to Purgatory Road
(almost to Canyon Lake )

Highway 71 from Austin to Brady

When Texans say
"Don't pick the Bluebonnets",
we mean it!

Lunch Ladies Report!

Last time we went to Just Between Friends tea house.

Some tried on hats,
 some tried on...lampshades?
(yes, they did !)
and others wore their Easter bonnets from their world travels.
and a great time was had by all.
The next Ladies Day Luncheon is May 1, 11:00.
Meet at the gate.....details to follow soon.

Debt, Paid!

Lola Montez is happy to report a truce between
 "The Outlaw" and "The Lady".
To prevent further bloodshed
and mend broken bones
 and broken hearts...
a ceremonial sip 'o Scotch Whisky
smoothed our collective ruffled brows!
Quinn Murieta and his lovely paramour toasted to our future happiness and lack of litigation.
Class act, that outlaw!

Flowers Everywhere!

 Sue & Jim
 Annie & Bill
 Margo & Stan
And Missy, too...
Spent a glorious week in Fredericksburg.
Wonderful weather,
great food,
lively conversation
and lots of sights to see!
We did a lot of this...

Took tons of pictures of flowers...
Even tho the signs on one road warned us to stay on the pavement and off the sides we couldn't...just couldn't obey!
Til the sheriff showed up and chased us away. Me, I stare at the camera...everybody else is making eyes at the sheriff!

Stan got down in the dirt to commune with Nature!

We toured the LBJ Ranch...great tour.
 Girls got goofy while shopping!
Of course, had to grab a beer in Luckenbach!

Just a few more pictures, then it's back to Sandpipers!
