SnowBall Festival Report
If you missed Saturday's celebration of Christmas
you missed a unique experience.
Here are a few of the highlights.
Santa Mrs Santa and all the elves gathered early to transform the pavilion into a Winter Wonderland .
Snow ball fights, skiing, building snowmen, and gingerbread houses(some just nibbled on the houses).
We sang, we danced to holiday tunes and watched
how the grinch stole Christmas.
Prizes were won for all the events.
We had rich libations and sweets.
I appreciate all those who helped they did a fantastic job.
I also thank those who came and enjoyed,
and those who decorated the park.
I drive through and feel the warmth of the Christmas season.
Thank you and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Love Mr. and Mrs. Clause aka

Dirty Santa Gift Exchange
Dirty Santa
December 23rd
Pavilion
6:30 PM
It's time for Dirty Santa!
I've heard this gift exchange called many things
in different parts of the country...
Yankee Christmas
White Elephant
"That-gift-exchange-where-you-steal-gifts"
This year I'm hearing "Dirty Santa" everywhere.
I don't think it's a new term, just popular this year.
The elves running the show are trying to make it go a bit faster.
To that end they are introducing an added feature:
"Minute-to-win-it"
You'll have one minute to pick or steal a gift.
Miss the deadline and your number goes back
in the box to be pulled later.
AND...
At the end of the evening, if you have a gift you aren't thrilled with, a gift that just isn't you, there will be a last chance gift exchange among the unhappies.
Bring a gift, MINIMUM $20.00...
that's MINIMUM $20.00....
it doesn't mean spend $10.00 'cause that's under $20.
That would be maximum $20.00!
This exchange is MINIMUM $20.00!
Make it a uni-sex gift.
And NO GAG GIFTS, Please!
This means go buy something you would like to receive
and spend AT LEAST $20.00.
Got it?
This event is so much fun!
Plan to attend...you'll love it!
Did I mention it is Minimum $20.00?

Be Careful What You Wish For...
Remember all the times in the past year you've said to yourself, "Self, I wish it would rain."
Well guess what our handy dandy weather station
told us this morning?
In the past 5 days it has rained 46 separate times!!!
46!
Separate!
Times!
True it only all adds up to less than an inch and a half, but still...
46 separate times!
Somebody better stop the rain dancers.

Lost....Oh My...Please return to Their Owners!
Frankie Plea
Hi Y'all!!
My prescription glasses have inadvertently found a new home!
I left them in the shower on Sunday 12/4/11 after tennis,
came back a while later and they were Kaput!
They're plain gold frames with bifocals.
I'd love to be reunited!
Thanks ~ Frankie Site 104 ;o)
One last note – Joan #338 – left a decorative jelly jar with quarters in the laundry room last week.
This jar has sentimental value to Joan and she.
would appreciate getting it back.
You can drop it by her house or leave it at the office.

Get Your Cirque Fix!
From Bill & Karen:
Cirque Du Soleil is coming to the state farm arena in Feb. with a repeat preformance of Allegria, March 14 -18.
AlegrÃa is a mood, a state of mind.
The themes of the show, whose name
means "jubilation" in Spanish, are many.
Power and the handing down of power over time,
the evolution from ancient monarchies to modern democracies,
old age, youth -
it is against this backdrop that the
characters of AlegrÃa play out their lives.
Kings' fools, minstrels, beggars, old aristocrats and children
make up its universe, along with the clowns,
who alone are able to resist the passing of time and the social transformations that accompany it.
**** Bill and I are going to the the new Dralion in March.
If anyone is interested I can get group rates at $40 or less
for side stadium seats.
Just see me at #434

Lunch With Tut.
The Ladies Who Lunch had quite an outing this past Thursday.
Lunch at Corina's Tea Room in Edinburg...
Beautifully decorated, wonderful food...
The Tomato Basil soup was heavenly!
Assorted chicken salads...
in salad form...
or on croissants!
YUM!
And cheesecake for dessert!
Happy faces!
We then all ran over to UTPA for a FREE King Tut exhibit.
Never saw so much gold...
gorgeous jewelry that wouldn't have been out of place wearing to Corina's for lunch.
Put me in the mood to shop....
This dagger is solid gold!
Or would have been if it was real.
I was all excited about being surrounded by precious jewels and pounds of gold until Karon reminded me it was all a facsimile...really well done, though.
Now this is kinda cute...these are King Tut's shoes.
His enemies portraits are painted on so when he walks he is "crushing" them! Rather touching, really.
Here is Tut as mummy.
Young man...only about 18 when he died.
Not much of a Pharaoh. He didn't really have a chance to be.
But the whole world knows his name.
Ohhhh, more jewels!
It was just fascinating. Go see, you won't be sorry.
